SportsWareOnLine Updates – February 2025 

 

The February SportsWareOnLine update adds several new features, including: 

 

  • Web: New filter and display options for the QuickTreatment program. These new filters help prevent athletes from selecting old injuries or rarely used modalities. Injury Notes can be included in Excel exports. A new report, “Travel 1-Page With Images”, includes the Insurance Card images. Improved Insurance Verification Status reporting. 

  • Mobile App (v1.0.141 available on the Apple and Google Play Stores): Support for Required Fields in the Athlete and Medical History databases. Insurance Company and Provider NPI number lookups. 

Web App – Feb Update 

QuickTreatments (QT) 

As requested by our users, the Web application now allows you to filter the Injuries and Treatment Modalities which are displayed in the QuickTreatment program. 

 

  1. From the Admin, Institution, menu, scroll down to the Quick Treatment Filter Defaults. Here you can specify length of time, closed status and hidden status for Injuries available to select.

  1. From the Picklists, Treatment Items, you can specify modalities as being Favorite (QT). The QuickTreatment program will display any modalities marked as Favorite or used in the athlete’s most recent treatment session. Note: If you do not select any Favorite (QT) items, SportsWare will display all available modalities.

Injury Notes in Exports 

You can include the Injury Notes when exporting data to Excel. 

Travel 1-Page With Images Report Includes the Insurance Cards 

The new “Travel 1-Page With Images” report includes images of the front and back of the Athlete’s Insurance Card. 

Improved Status Reporting for Insurance Verification 

SportsWare displays more detailed information when verifying athlete insurance coverage. Athlete, Insurance page and Utilities, Insurance Verification. 

Duplicate Referrals 

SportsWare now includes a Duplicate Referral function. 

PHQ-9 Required Option 

SportsWare now supports requiring Athletes to complete PHQ-9 forms, similar to requiring athletes to complete Medical Histories. Institution, General, Options (at the bottom of the page).

PHQ-9 Depression Severity Removed from Athlete and Parent Dashboard 

The PHQ-9 Depression Severity text is no longer displayed on the Athlete or Parent Dashboard. Only the total score is displayed. 

 

Mobile App 

Required Fields (Athlete and History DBs). 

The Mobile App now supports Required Fields. When you set required fields from the Web App (Admin, Institution, Required), the Mobile App indicates the required fields with red text. When saving a record, SportsWare confirms all required fields have been completed. If not, a message is displayed with the option to Go Back and add the missing information or Save and Close the record.

Insurance Verification Payer Lookup 

Selecting the Picklist icon in the Insurance Payer field, displays a list of insurance companies which SportsWare uses to verify athlete coverage.

NPI Link in Phone Book and on Athlete Medical Page. 

From the Athlete, Medical page or the Phone Book, clicking the binoculars icon in the NPI field launches a website with a database of doctor’s NPI numbers.
