| Under the picklists tab from the dashboard is where you will customize SportsWare to fit your organization's unique needs. There are 14 picklist options to customize here. In this help article we will go over a few unique/important ones.

Picklists > Multi Level
Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the different picklist options within this menu. We will not be providing written descriptions of all picklists as some are very self explanatory.
- Alert- Alert is anything you would want to know about an athlete in an emergency situation. It is one of the few fields that allows users or athletes and parents to free-type answers so you do not need to create an exhaustive list of all possible alerts. However, entering common alerts is helpful as it guides athletes/parents as to what type of information should be included in this section.
- ATC- ATC should be populated with the names of all users who will be documenting in SportsWare. These fields are "character challenged" and can only allow a maximum of 20 characters, so we recommend entering names as last name, first initial.
- Body Area- Body area is where you will go to modify or add a specific site with respect to injuries. These are cascading picklists.
- Level 1 = Body Area
- Level 2 = Body Part
- Level 3 = Where Injury Appears
- Level 4 = Site or Ligament (if relevant)
- IMPORTANT: To make customizations of the Body Area picklists show, you need to complete an extra step. Once you have updated the body area picklist, click the save button. From the dashboard go to the dropdown menu, select Picklists > injury diagnosis codes. At the bottom of the page, click the reimport multi button. This imports the picklist changes into the injury database. Multiple changes can be made to the body area picklist at once, however no changes will be visible in the injury database until after the reimport multi function has been run.
- Grad Class- There are two ways to track grad class in SportsWare, either by expected year of graduation (class of 2022, 2023, etc) or class level (freshman, sophomore, etc). We recommend tracking by expected year of graduation as it makes your end of year functions much easier.
- Group- In SportsWare the group section is used to broadly define groups of students. Typically groups are used by school district accounts to separate athletes between the different schools in the district or boarding schools to classify boarding or day students. In a single school there should be a group with your school’s name for all athletes. It confirms the athlete or parent is joining the correct institution.
- If your school keeps documents on visiting athletes, you should also create a visiting group. This ensures when you run injury reports you can separate those sustained by visiting athletes from those sustained by your own students.
- Service- Service contains a list of the type of services you most regularly refer athletes out for. Items may include urgent care, ortho, dental, vision, chiropractic, physical therapy and general medicine. This list will vary based on the level of contact in sports played at your school.
- Sport- SportsWare comes pre-populated with an extensive list of sports but, like the other picklist items, may be customized to better fit your school’s needs. For sports with different positions, you may enter the position they were playing when an athlete is injured. This allows for more informative reporting on which positions see higher incidents of injury.
Once you have completed your picklist updates be sure to click the save button. There is no need to click Save until you are done updating all of your picklists, but of course, saving often never hurts if you're doing a lot of customizations at once.
Picklists > Immunizations
Other picklists are not displayed in cascading style. You will see all item options on your screen at once.
Picklists > Sign-out
Some picklists will have extra fields for you to fill out. For example, the sign-out list has a spot for the cost of the item being signed out to an athlete.
Picklists > AutoType
Under this picklist is where you add typing shortcuts to utilize while typing out notes. These abbreviations are CASE SENSITIVE.
We recommend adding each ATC's initials to use as a quick signature and any other commonly used phrase. This will save a lot of time when documenting multiple injuries and treatments at a time.
